It is our great pleasure to inform you that we plan to hold The Nihon Ki-in Summer Go School from 27 August 2012 for 10 days in Japan.
(Most of the programs will be held at The Nihon Ki-in.)
1. About Summer Go School

The Summer Go School is the intensive go program only for overseas go players who wish to get stronger in a short time period
and/or to experience, feel and touch the world's preeminent Go culture in Japan!
To help you become stronger, our selective professionals will zealously give you intensive go sessions in English
such as teaching games and lectures from morning to evening during the period.
(In case, interpreters will be provided whenever needed to assist the professionals or participants.)

2. Special Tours
There are several special tours to be arranged for the participants of The Summer School.
For example, we plan to give the participants a special tour for 1st game of the 37th Meijin title match,
which will be held on 30 and 31 August 2012 in Tokyo.
3. Your Kind Cooperation

4. Notes
1) The deadline for your application will be 30 June 2012.
2) The Summer Go School may be canceled if the number of participants does not reach 20 people by above date.
3) This Summer School program is not an annual event, which means we are not sure if we can organise such an event again in future.
Next summer we will be the host country to organise the 34th World Amateur Go Championship,
and we are really not sure if we can hold the Summer School in 2014 or after.

We will be looking forward to holding above event in August and as many as go players will participate in the special event!

The Nihon Ki-in Summer Go School & Go Camp

1. General Info

Term: For 10 days from 27th August 2012
Place: The Nihon Ki-in (Tokyo)
Participants: Only overseas players can apply for above program.
(Suitable for from 12 kyu to high dan players for all age
groups)

2. Contents

1) Workshops
Several selective pros including worldwide famous 9dan pro and young talented pro aged
14 of The Nihon Ki-in will zealously give you sessions every day from morning to
evening except Saturday(free day). There will be two classes in sessions to let us
provide you with suitable intensive program by skill level: Class A for Dan players
and Class B for Kyu players. The lectures and workshops will be provided by above
professionals every day. You may also receive teaching games from several pros and
they can also review each of your games deeply.
We will also give you excellent textbooks to make you stronger!

2) Special Tours
-You may be allowed to watch the first game of the 37th Meijin title match at an
exclusive playing room. You may also watch the discussions and reviews of the
game by top professionals at the venue.
-You may enter the very famous Yugen no ma which is used only top players’
match and was seen on Hikaru no go many times.
-You may be allowed to watch professional matches at The Nihon Ki-in.
-You may be allowed to watch Insei match in weekend.

3) Others
-The fellowship with top and/or famous players will be arranged.
-You can play a game with a traditional four legged goban at a Tatami room of
The Nihon Kiin that many pros often use for their study meetings.
-Visiting some of top Japanese Universities in Tokyo, you will play a goodwill match
against the top University go players.
-The Go camp with professionals will be arranged during the period.
- You will be free on Saturday for tour of Tokyo.

3. Fee

The program fee will be between JPY40,000 and JPY50,000 which is not including your
accommodation.(Students may be given discounted prices from above fees.)
We will assist you in your reservation of affordable accommodation in Tokyo from USD40/
night to USD60/night.
